PATIENT NOTICE

THE PARTNERS AND STAFF WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING AND PATIENCE THROUGH THESE UNPRECEDENTED TIMES.

WE ARE WORKING TO GUIDELINES ENSURING THAT OUR SERVICES ARE SAFE AND EFFECTIVE AT ALL TIMES TO PROTECT YOUR SAFETY AND WELL BEING.

YOU WILL NOT SEE SO MANY FACES DUE TO US HAVING TO WORK VERY DIFFERENTLY TO MEET THE SOCIAL DISTANCE RULE BUT PLEASE BE ASSURED THERE ARE STAFF MEMBERS AT ALL TIMES WHO WILL BE HAPPY TO ASSIST YOU.

WE WOULD LIKE TO WELCOME 3 NEW MEMBERS TO OUR DISPENSARY TEAM DEVON, JISELLE AND ROSS; WHO WILL BE HAPPY TO ASSIST WITH YOUR MEDICATION REQUESTS.

 PLEASE NOTE: The Dispensary will be closed ALL DAY on Wednesday 31st March 2021.

 NHS Charges

These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.

  • Prescription (per item): £9.35
  • 12-month prepayment certificate (PPC): £108.10
  • 3-month PPC: £30.25

If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.

Requests for Controlled Drugs

Patients will need to inform the dispensary on which day they will be collecting their controlled drugs. 

Controlled drugs require stricter guidelines and protocols, therefore will not be ready to pick up until after 10.30am on the day of collection.

Medication Reviews

Medication review dates are given for the benefit of the patient. Please ensure that when your review date is due, you make an appointment with the nurse for blood tests if required (if unsure please ask at reception) and then with a doctor. This enables the doctor to ensure that your prescribed medication is still appropriate for your medical needs.

Help with NHS costs

In England, around 90% of prescription items are dispensed free. This includes exemptions from charging for those on low incomes, such as:

  • those on specific benefits or through the NHS Low Income Scheme
  • those who are age exempt
  • those with certain medical conditions
